Grid-charged MW-scale BESS

1.25 MW / 5 MWh · 440 V three-phase

A modular 5 MWh LFP battery behind ten paralleled 125 kW bidirectional PCS modules (1.25 MW). TOBOR EMS schedules grid charging and discharging through the same PCS path, and on grid failure the isolated 440 V load bus is supplied from the battery through a 400 / 440 V voltage-matching interface.

Concept only. Single lines represent power circuits. Final conductor sizes, protective-device ratings, transformer capacity, neutral / earthing arrangement and transfer sequence require engineering approval. Net 1.25 MW output and four-hour backup must account for losses, reserves and site conditions.

Grid charging / discharging

  • Charge: grid → AC bus → interface → PCS → battery.
  • Discharge: battery → PCS → interface → AC bus → grid / loads.
  • TOBOR EMS sets charge, discharge and export limits.

Grid unavailable

  • Grid isolation opens; the utility is disconnected.
  • Battery → PCS → voltage-matching interface → load bus.
  • BESS supplies the 440 V three-phase loads.
