Will the BESS handle the load profile of a server room?
Yes. ITES and biotech sites typically draw a flat baseline (24×7) with periodic spikes (CRAC restart, lab equipment). BESS handles both — flat draw at high efficiency, surge headroom for the spikes. We deploy with redundant N+1 cabinets for mission-critical floors.
What if I'm in an STPI / SEZ — can I deploy on-site?
Yes. STPI campuses routinely deploy on-site BESS within the SEZ footprint. The customs and tax framework is straightforward — equipment is treated as part of the site's infrastructure investment. We've shipped to 4 SEZ deployments in Karnataka.
Does the BESS need a special permission from BESCOM?
BESS as a self-consumption load doesn't trigger a special BESCOM permit. The hybrid solar inverter / PCS that integrates with the rooftop solar does require standard rooftop-solar approval, which we file as part of the install package.
