Section 01

Cost & ROI

Pricing, payback, and what your savings look like.

How much does an Infozeb BESS cost?
Residential systems start at the IZ-3K-1P (3 kW / 6 kWh). Commercial systems start at the IZ-30K-3P (30 kW / 60 kWh). We don't publish list prices because every quote is sized to your bill or DG load — use the calculator for a personalised estimate, or send us your site details for a 24-hour quote.
What is the payback period for a home battery?
For an Indian homeowner with rooftop solar and a typical ₹6,000–10,000 monthly bill, payback is usually 4–6 years. Homes that combine an Infozeb battery with PM Surya Ghar subsidy on the solar side can reach 3-year payback. Tier-1 city homes with ₹12,000+ bills pay back fastest.
What is the payback period for replacing a diesel generator?
Most MSME factories and hospitals running a 30–240 kW load reach payback in 3–4 years on a BESS + solar combination. Sites that pay both demand-charge penalties and peak-rate diesel can hit payback in under 3 years.
Are there finance options or EMI plans?
Yes. We work with SIDBI and NABARD partners on green-energy loans for commercial deployments, and with NBFCs on residential EMI plans typically running 36–60 months. The Subsidies & Finance page covers eligibility and how to apply.

Section 02

Technology & Safety

What's inside the battery and why it's safe in Indian conditions.

What battery chemistry does Infozeb use?
LiFePO4 (lithium iron phosphate). We deliberately don't ship NMC chemistry. LiFePO4 has the thermal stability India's hot climate demands, the cycle life that justifies a 16-year deployment, and a non-combustion failure mode. It's the safest commercially available lithium chemistry for stationary storage.
How long does the battery last?
6,000 charge-discharge cycles at 80% depth of discharge. At one full cycle per day, that's roughly 16 years — longer than most rooftop solar panel warranties in India. We warranty cells for 10 years; the practical life routinely exceeds that.
What happens if there's a power cut?
Every Infozeb system includes islanding capability. When the grid drops, the system switches your essential circuits to battery in under 20 milliseconds — fast enough that no computer, server, refrigerator, or critical medical equipment notices. A typical DG ATS takes 5–10 seconds.
Is it safe to install inside my home?
Yes. LiFePO4 cells don't combust under thermal abuse, only vent. Every Infozeb residential cabinet includes integrated BMS monitoring (cell-level), a Class-D fire suppression system on commercial units, and IP55 enclosures. Installations follow CEA and CEIG guidelines.

Section 03

Installation

What the install actually looks like and how long it takes.

How long does installation take?
Residential installs (3–9 kW) take 1 working day. Commercial cabinets (30–240 kW) take 2–4 days depending on civil work and existing wiring. Utility containers (480 kW–1.92 MW) take 7–14 days. Cloud EMS commissioning adds another half-day.
Do I need a special electrical connection?
Single-phase residences run on standard LT connections. Three-phase commercial sites need an existing 3φ supply. We don't typically request a connection upgrade — the BESS sits between your solar / grid and your loads.
Will an Infozeb battery work with my existing solar inverter?
Yes. Infozeb systems are hybrid-ready and pair with any rooftop solar inverter through an AC- or DC-coupled topology. You keep your existing panels and inverter; we add the battery, BMS, and hybrid controller in line. No re-wiring of your rooftop array.
Where does the battery cabinet physically go?
Residential 3 kW cabinets are wall-mounted and IP55, fitting in a utility area or garage wall. 9 kW units sit on the floor. Commercial 30–240 kW cabinets are floor-standing — typically inside a utility room next to the existing DG room. Utility containers are skid-mounted, outdoor-rated.

Section 04

Warranties & Support

What's covered, for how long, and how we respond when something needs attention.

What warranty comes with the battery?
10 years on the LiFePO4 cells, 5 years on the power conversion electronics (PCS), 2 years on the cabinet and ancillary components. Warranty covers manufacturing defects and degradation below 70% of nameplate capacity within the cycle/year limits.
How do you monitor the system?
Every Infozeb BESS streams telemetry to portal.infozeb.energy. We see cell-level temperatures, SoC, SoH, and fault events in real time. If a unit reports an anomaly, our team gets paged before you notice — and we usually fix it remotely.
What if something fails after warranty?
We carry spares of every cell, BMS PCB, and PCS module shipped. Out-of-warranty replacements are billed at parts cost plus labour. Field repair is typically same-day in tier-1 cities, next-day in tier-2.

Section 05

Subsidies & Schemes

PM Surya Ghar, MNRE, GST, and state-level support.

Does PM Surya Ghar cover the battery?
PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana subsidises 1–3 kW rooftop solar (up to ₹78,000 for a 3 kW system). The scheme covers the solar; adding a battery is separate. However, our residential customers routinely stack the solar subsidy with a NBFC EMI on the battery side to make the combined system affordable.
Is GST 12% or 18% on an Infozeb BESS?
Standalone BESS attracts 18% GST. When the BESS ships as part of a documented solar project, it can qualify for 12% — same rate as rooftop solar components. We help you structure the quote correctly when you book.
Does the MNRE CAPEX subsidy apply to commercial customers?
MNRE has a state-administered C&I CAPEX subsidy for renewable-plus-storage projects (typically 20–30% in tier-2/3 cities, lower in metros). Eligibility depends on state and project structure. Our team helps with the application paperwork at no charge.

Section 06

Compatibility with Existing Solar

How an Infozeb battery fits into a site that already has solar.

Do I have to remove my existing solar inverter?
No. Infozeb systems integrate with any existing rooftop solar inverter. We use an AC-coupled topology by default — your inverter keeps generating, our battery sits in parallel and charges when there's excess. No changes to your rooftop array.
What if my state has net metering — should I still install a battery?
It depends on your state. Maharashtra and Gujarat have curtailed net metering above 10 kW. Tamil Nadu has zero-export mandates for commercial rooftop. When the grid stops paying for solar export, the only way to capture daytime generation is to store it. State pages list the live policy per DISCOM.
Will the battery still help even if I don't have solar?
Yes, but the economics are weaker. Without solar, you're just shifting grid power from cheap off-peak hours to expensive peak hours — savings are 20–30% on a typical tariff. Pairing with solar takes the savings to 60–90%. Most Infozeb customers either have solar or install both together.
