Maharashtra net metering ended at 10 kW. Storage is the answer.

MSEDCL capped net metering at 10 kW for LT consumers. Pune, Nashik, and Aurangabad MSME density runs hot on demand charges. Vidarbha sees 6–8 h power cuts every summer. Infozeb BESS solves all three.

Above 10 kW solar? You can't net-meter the extra. Store it instead.

MSME density in Pune and Nashik drives commercial demand. Mumbai suburb residential pays ₹11+/unit at peak. Vidarbha grid is unreliable through the summer.

Maharashtra · frequently asked

Local questions, answered.

What does MSEDCL allow above 10 kW solar now?
Above 10 kW, you can no longer net-meter excess export to the grid. You can still self-consume, but the credit-for-export model is gone. The economic answer is to store midday solar in a BESS for evening / night use — that's what 90% of post-2024 Maharashtra installs look like.
Are there state subsidies on top of MNRE / PM Surya Ghar?
MEDA (Maharashtra Energy Development Agency) administers state-side incentives that vary by year. For residential, PM Surya Ghar (up to ₹78,000 for 3 kW) is the headline scheme. C&I projects sometimes qualify for MEDA's renewable + storage pilot lines — we help check eligibility per project.
Does Vidarbha's summer load shedding affect BESS sizing?
Yes — Nagpur, Amravati, Wardha and the wider Vidarbha belt see 4–8 hour cuts daily through April–June. We oversize residential and small-commercial Infozeb installs in Vidarbha vs Pune / Mumbai to cover the long evening cuts without DG.
